Chiara Cordelli is a political philosopher and an author. She is Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago, and affiliated faculty in Philosophy. She is currently visiting Sciences Po as a Senior Research Fellow. She is the author of an award-winning book, The Privatized State (Princeton University Press, 2020), and of Privatocrazia (Mondadori, 2022). Her current book project, Ruled by None: A Political Theory of Capitalism, aims to develop a novel critique of capitalism and a normative case for financial democracy. Originally from Viterbo, she has lived in many places, including Rome, Barcelona, Brussels, London, Washington DC, San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, Boston, and Paris.
